That’s what my adorable 4-year-old DS2 said when he looked in the mirror after getting a DRASTIC haircut yesterday. He wasn’t upset about it. To the contrary, he LOVED having a hair cut that resembled a bird’s nest!
The need to cut his long, blond locks was on doctor’s orders considering DS2 continues to suffer terribly from allergies. The doc believed that the shorter the hair the less chance of allergens and pollutants clinging to it and getting in his face. It made sense to me. I had been wanting to cut his hair for some time now only because he’s such a sweat hog. Now I had another reason to.
So a dear homeschooling friend of mine came over yesterday and did the deed. It took a whopping 45 minutes but only because I kept saying “Shorter…shorter….” until we reached the point that we did. So, you ask, just how exactly does a very active 4-year-old boy sit still in a chair for 45 minutes? With a bag full of gumdrops, that’s how.
It’s certainly a departure from his old look…but we’re all very pleased with it. And my mom…well, she just LOVES the new bird’s nest look considering how much she hated his long hair!
